Canada is absolutely attracting more international students than the US because the US wil bar international students who are attending schools operating online-only.
Temporary exemptions for nonimmigrant students taking online courses during fall 2020 semester:
- Harvard, MIT sued to block this rule. Foreign students in the U.S. are feeling sad.
- Canada is much more friendly to foreign students. According to IRCC, if your in-class courses are being moved to an online-only format because of COVID-19, you’re still eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Students can begin their classes while outside Canada in fall 2020, and complete up to 50% of their program while outside Canada.
